Fatah official slams PM: 'He hasn't gained anything'

Rajoub says Netanyahu focused more on politics than peace, Palestinians have nothing to lose in declaring statehood at UN.

Fatah official Jibril Rajoub said on Wednesday that he has no expectations from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
"Netanyahu makes policies and says facts, but he doesn't gain anything," Rajoub told Israel Radio.

He added that "all that's important to Netanyahu is his coalition."
Rajoub said he hopes that in Netanyahu's speech to the US Congress, he'll say that he will stop settlement construction and recognize a Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders with security arrangements.
When asked about the Hamas-Fatah unity deal, Rajoub said that "Fatah will not be part of any coalition that does not accept [Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud] Abbas's commitments to peace and the vision of two states for two nations."
Rajoub also said that the Palestinians have nothing to lose from unilaterally declaring statehood in the UN, and called upon Israel to recognize the existence of the Palestinian people.
