A retired Prisons Service warden shot his wife and tired to murder his stepson before committing suicide in the North on Sunday.
Neighbors and a relative placed separate calls to emergency services after the shootings, a Coastal Police spokesman told The Jerusalem Post.
Paramedics and police discovered the body of a man, a seriously injured woman, and a teenage boy suffering from gunshot injuries to his chest and hand.
The woman died of her injuries at the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa despite attempts by doctors to revive her. She was identified as Bat- Sheva Lahi, 46.
Her son, in serious condition, was placed by doctors in a medically induced coma and hooked up to a ventilator, police said.
“We have not had any opportunity to speak to him at this stage,” said the spokesman.
Police believe the man, 49- year-old Eliyahu Yahi, went on a shooting spree in his own home following an argument. Yahi used a licensed and legally owned firearm to fire multiple rounds at his wife, police added.
He then turned the gun on his 14-year-old stepson. The boy fled the home, screaming, after being hit by two bullets. Neighbors were prompted to contact emergency services.
A final shot then rang out across the building, as Yahi shot himself.
“They have no record of domestic violence,” the police spokesman told the Post.
