IDF soldier in serious condition after shots fired in Jerusalem's Mount Scopus tunnel

Police: Victim shot in stomach, intensive search underway for assailant; incident comes after man killed in tractor terror attack in capital.

An IDF soldier was shot in the stomach by a suspected terrorist in a tunnel in Jerusalem's Mount Scopus Monday afternoon, less than three hours after a separate terrorist attack took the life of a pedestrian in the capital.
While details of the attack remain unclear, according to police, the incident took place at approximately 4 p.m., before the suspect fled the scene.
“Multiple shots were fired, one man was hit in the stomach and rushed to the hospital in serious condition,” said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. “Police units are now searching the area for the vehicle the suspect drove and hope to make an arrest shortly.”
Rosenfeld did not confirm if the two terrorist attacks are related.
Meanwhile, Hebrew University released a statement shortly after the shooting denying media reports that the shooting was somehow related to its Mount Scopus campus.
