Earlier in the week, the Histadrut announced that it was actively joining the housing protests.
Histradrut Chairman Ofer Eini on Sunday met with organizers of the protests in efforts to further consolidate their demands.
Eini said earlier in the week: “workers from around the country are an inseparable part of the middle and lower classes. They represent all the layers of society – Jewish, Arab, right, left, women, men and more.”
He added that the labor federation was coordinating its efforts with protest organizers, and that it had no ambitions to play the lead role.
Also on Thursday, hundreds of people held a simultaneous housing protest as they marched down Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv demanding free public housing.
Activists chanted slogans such as "The people demand public housing," "Bibi failed his civic studies," and "What's the answer to privatization? Revolution!"
Around 30 cops were stationed at the scene to monitor the protest.
