Dogs are known as man's best friend, and man knows how to return the favor.An Air Canada flight from Tel Aviv to Toronto made an unscheduled landing in Germany after the pilot noticed that the temperature control systems for the luggage compartment were failing.Normally, it would not be a concern, except that on this flight a dog belonging to one of the passengers was being transported in a special cage.Fearing for the health of Simba, a seven-year-old canine, the pilot of flight AC085 informed the 232 passengers on board that he was diverting the plane and landing in Frankfurt.In Germany, the dog and its owner were placed on another plane and flown to Toronto.The total delay was just 75 minutes, and the other passengers accepted the reroute with understanding and empathy.As an airplane's altitude increases, the temperature in the luggage compartment drops.
