The path to Hollywood stardom appears to be wide open for Leem Lubany, the Nazareth-born 18-year-old girl who already has heads turning thanks to an impressive body of work for someone just starting out in the acting business.
Moviegoers can see the Israeli Arab beauty act alongside such established stars as Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, and Zooey Deschanel in the Barry Levinson-directed comedy Rock the Kasbah.

The film depicts the story of a washed-up music manager who discovers a teenage girl with an exceptional singing voice  (played by Lubany) while on a music tour in Afghanistan. The manager takes his newly discovered prodigy to Kabul to compete on the American Idol-style television show, Afghan Star.
This isn't Lubany's first foray into acting. She came into the public consciousness for her performance in the Oscar-nominated Palestinian film Omar, in which she played the love interest of a young man in the West Bank who is forced to become a collaborator with the Israeli authorities.
The film was praised by critics, and it even earned a nomination for best foreign language film at the 2014 Academy Awards.
The Internet rumor mill is now speculating that Lubany will appear in the sixth season of the HBO smash hit series Game of Thrones. If true, it will be yet another step in the burgeoning career of a talent worth keeping an eye on.
