Outspoken comedian Chelsea Handler arrives in the Holy Land

According to earlier local reports, Handler is in Israel for a fundraiser supporting Sheba Medical Center’s Tal Center for Integrative Oncology.

Chelsea Handler has touched down at the Holy Land. In true brazen Handler fashion, the Jewish American comedian happily posted a photo of herself at the Western Wall on Monday with a caption playing on the famous (and explicit) Lil Jon song, “Get Low.”
“From the window... to the Wall. Jerusalem is for lovers. Are you there, Oprah? It’s me, chesty,” the caption read.
 

On a private visit to Israel, Handler was scheduled to attend a fundraiser supporting Sheba Medical Center’s Tal Center for Integrative Oncology.
Last summer, Handler made headlines when the sidekick on her late night talk show, Chelsea Lately, wore a Hitler costume to coincide with Germany winning the World Cup.
Although her sidekick, Chuy Bravo, issued the following disclaimer at the end of the show: “I am dressed as Hitler as a joke, but I want everyone to know that he was a terrible man. I love Jews. Good night,” that didn’t stop the Anti-Defamation League from chiding Handler.
“While we try to give comedians leeway and do not believe that Nazi jokes should be completely off limits, this was an instance of taking a Hitler parody to the extreme. It was tasteless, offensive and hurtful, both to Holocaust survivors and their families and to members of the German team and all Germans,” an ADL issued statement read.
In a decision completely unrelated to any scuffle with the ADL, Handler has left her show and the E! network to enter the digital frontier of television programming by signing on to a new talk show with Netflix.
At the moment, it is unclear how long Handler will be in the country.
