The British Labour party sent out Passover greetings on Twitter on Friday with the icons of a cup of wine, a Star of David, and Hala bread – unwittingly offending Jewish people as Passover is when observant Jews refrain from eating leavened bread and eat matza instead.
The mistake was corrected in a matter of hours, but not before causing much merriment online with users pointing out that 'this is what happens when all the Jews left your party.'
British Labour, and its current head Jeremy Corbyn, have been facing accusations of antisemitism and a biased view of the Jewish state in recent times. These accusations are strongly denied by the party leaders.
