Hundreds of students of Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto, the leader of the Shuva Yisrael community, gathered on Saturday night in Manhattan and listened in his talk which dealt with current issues.
Rabbi Pinto referred to the unity of the Jewish people that was sharply revealed in the wake of the war. He said, "The entire Jewish people is uniting and becoming more Jewish. The enemy does not distinguish between religious and secular or right-wing and left-wing. As far as he is concerned, he wants to murder everyone."
"Ishmael's cruelty has united the Jewish people. People are helping each other. We need to completely remove hatred from the Jewish people. Look at what it has done to us, a destruction like no other," Rabbi Pinto exclaimed.
Since the beginning of the war, Rabbi Pinto has been giving Torah talks to inspire the Jewish world every evening. The talks are broadcast live to many centers around the world and they include a session of questions and answers based on questions sent from the audience.
In the past month, Shuva Israel led by Rabbi Pinto has raised tens of millions of shekels for the welfare of IDF soldiers and the families of the abductees. "We must not sit back complacently," explained Rabbi Pinto. He instructed his students, "We have to give and help."
