FM: More realistic goal would be interim agreement

Lieberman sounds a pessimistic note after launch of peace talks, says certain issues are unlikely to be solved by both sides.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Friday sounded a pessimistic note regarding the recent peace talks.
"The best or most realistic goal would be an interim agreement or solution with a long time frame," said Lieberman.
RELATED:'Jerusalem cannot be the capital of state called Israel''US supports Israeli security and Palestinian aspirations'He added that he would prefer that the government concentrate on "economic and security" issues in the talks as he was dubious on the ability of negotiators to solve more contentious issues regarding the settlements, Palestinian refugees, and the final status of Jerusalem.
On Thursday, thirteen Gaza terrorist groups agreed to join forces to launch a wave of attacks against Israel in a reaction to the announcement of new peace talks, Reuters reported.
Hamas reportedly announced after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas launched peace talks that the 13 groups would step up "more effective attacks" against Israel.
Also on Thursday, Hamas condemned the launch of direct talks, saying its goal is to "liquidate" the Palestinian cause, and accusing Abbas of allowing Israel to build settlements in the West Bank and denying refugees' "right of return."
