Israeli boxer Hagar Shmoulefeld Finer came close but was beaten on points by veteran German fighter Regina Halmich on Friday night in a fight for the Women's International Boxing flyweight title.
The fight, held in Halmich's home town of Karlsruhe, went the full ten rounds with Halmich winning with the judges scoring 95-95, 97-94, 96-94.
The 7,500 capacity DM Arena was sold out for what was the 31-year-old Halmich's final fight of a glittering career which has seen her win 54 of her 56 fights.
Finer, 23, managed to open a cut on Halmich's nose, but the German was stronger throughout the bout.
The Israeli now has a record of 14-5-3, with 3 KOs.
