Two-and-a-half months after leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv, Oded Katash made a shock return to Hapoel Galil Elyon on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old, who left Galil for Maccabi in the summer, struggled at Tel Aviv, suffering humiliating losses in both the Euroleague and the BSL.
Katash led Galil to the Final Four last season and will be Hapoel's third coach of the season, replacing Danny Franco, who lost his last four league games in charge.
"Galil decided to terminate Franco's contract with immediate effect and turned to Oded Katash, asking him to lead the team once more. Oded agreed to join the club and will begin his job on Thursday," a Galil statement read.
