By NATHANIEL ROSEN
After the lights went out during the Israel Softball Association's women's league championship game with the score tied 11-11, it was decided that the 2006 title would be shared between the Beit Shemesh Fireballs and ISP Tel Aviv.
The game, played at Kibbutz Gezer on Sunday night, will not be resumed or replayed.
Visiting Tel Aviv took an early, two-run lead in the top of the first inning, but Beit Shemesh responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning, including an RBI triple by Rhonda Lloyd and RBI hits by Arava Israel, Minna Wolf and Cheryl Konstantyn.
After two innings, the Fireballs led 7-5, but ISP came back and tied it at 8 after four innings.
Following a scoreless fifth, both teams scored three in the sixth and then the lights at the field went out in the seventh.
Tel Aviv's Ella Reich went 3-for-3 in the shortened game, while Meirav Eisenberg and Efrat Yaakov scored three runs each for Beit Shemesh.
