Patriarchate: "Armenian clerics in Jerusalem are fighting for their lives."

Despite his love of Jewish music and Jewish people, Charles Aznavour, a diminutive singer and songwriter later nicknamed the “Frank Sinatra of France,” wasn’t Jewish.

Armenians say they risk being uprooted by a deal to lease about 25% of their area to developers who want to build a luxury hotel on the site.

Rabbi Zamir Isayev of the Georgian Sephardic community in Azerbaijan: “I am sorry to see the warnings materialize with a hate discourse ending in setting fire to the sanctuary”.

Armenia is the most saturated with antisemitism among the post-Soviet countries, with anti-Jewish sentiments shared by 58% of its population, according to the ADL.

A similar attack occurred in October by ASALA, which targeted the World Jewish Center in Yerevan.

Earlier this week, the World Jewish Center in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, was vandalized.

Israeli officials have said that the arms relationship is partly due to Azerbaijan’s geographic proximity to Iran, a country that routinely calls for violence against Israel.

The mission is expected to continue over the coming days with plans in place for the arrival of additional teams from other hospitals next week.
