The Labor Party's primary race saw Yair Golan elected leader with 95.15% of the vote, pledging to unite left-wing parties and strengthen Israeli democracy.

Golan previously served as a member of the Knesset within Meretz. He ran for leadership of Meretz ahead of the November 2022 election and lost to Zehava Galon.
Across the different protests, speakers denounced not only the members of the governing coalition, but also those who sit in the opposition or are seen as checks on Netanyahu in the war cabinet.

Other than Golan, the only other person to announce her candidacy is current Labor MK Efrat Rayten.
Part of the current lack of leadership lies in the fact that the goals for the war against Hamas are unachievable, Golan argued.
