'Proximity talks within 2 weeks'

But FM says PA can't talk peace while naming squares after terrorists.

Proximity talks between Israel and the Palestinians will begin within two weeks, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman estimated on Thursday.
During a press conference at the Foreign Ministry, Lieberman added, however, that the Palestinians’ conduct didn’t cease to amaze him.
“It’s unreasonable to talk about peace while at the same time perpetuating terror by naming town squares after bloodthirsty terrorists,” he said.

Echoing remarks made by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu earlier this week, Lieberman stressed that Israel was not planning an attack on Lebanon in the wake of reports that Syria had transferred Scud missiles to Hizbullah.
“Israel has no intention of creating provocation or making rash moves,” he said. Nevertheless, the foreign minister called the reported Scud transfer a threat to regional stability.
He also criticized the Palestinian Authority's ban on Israeli SIM cards for cellular phones, quipping, “Most of the Palestinian ministers will need to give up their cell phones.”
Shalom: Israel nearing renewed peace talks
Vice Premier Silvan Shalom also said Thursday that Israel was nearing renewed peace talks with the Palestinians, and that time had come for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to make the strategic decision to return to the negotiating table.
Shalom also stressed the importance of ending the Palestinian method of appealing to the US.
"If they want peace, they will find the Israeli government ready for true peace,” he said during a dedication ceremony for a Druse community center in Beit Jan.
