IDF foils attempted terror attack along Gaza border
1 Palestinian killed, 2 injured while trying to plant explosive device on fence; IDF makes no comment, Hamas attempts to maintain cease-fire.

One Palestinian was killed and two others wounded in violence along the border with Israel, a medical official in the Gaza Strip said Tuesday.The IDF fired at two terrorists who approached the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip, in what appeared to be an attempt to plant an explosive device. There was no word on their identities.The IDF had no comment on the claims of tank fire, but said Gazans fired five mortar shells at Israel earlier Tuesday. The shells landed in open areas, causing no injuries or damage.Hamas urged armed Palestinian factions last week to stop firing rockets at Israel.It warned that continued attacks could draw Israeli retaliation and threaten a two-year-old cease fire. Smaller armed groups have rejected Hamas' appeals for calm.
