'Fatah-linked group slams bin Laden assassination'

Al-Aqsa Brigades says al-Qaida leader's death "won't stop our Jihad mission against injustice and occupation," reports Ma'an.

The Fatah-affiliated Al-Aqsa Brigades said Tuesday they were mourning the death of Osama bin Laden, following announcements Sunday that he had been killed in a US raid, Ma'an reported.
According to a statement received by Ma'an, the group said bin Laden's death "won't stop our Jihad mission against injustice and occupation," and added that they doubt the veracity of claims that the al-Qaida leader was assassinated.

"The Islamic nation was shocked with the news that bin Laden had been killed by the non-believers," the statement said. "The fighters in Palestine and around the world who have lost their leaders did not stop their mission and will continue in the tutelage of their masters."
The Fatah-linked group concluded by stating that "we tell the Israeli and the American occupiers that we have leaders who have changed history with their Jihad and their steadfastness. We are ready to sacrifice our lives to bring back peace."
Palestinian reactions to bin Laden's death have been mixed.
Earlier, Palestinian Authority caretaker Prime Minister Salam Fayaad saying the event increased chances for peace in the world, while Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh slammed the assassination, saying it was an extension of US foreign policy based on killing.
