TOKYO - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 hit western Japan on Monday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.The epicentre of the earthquake was north of Osaka Prefecture, the agency said. No tsunami warning had been issued, it said, and there were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
