Opposition leader Shelly Yachimovich wished Maj.-Gen Aviv Kochavi luck in his new position, her office said in a statement on Tuesday. 'Like his predecessor, Kochavi will also have to contend with the many rifts in Israeli society that flow into the army and create for him a complex challenge in his own right. ' Kochavi is an 'exceptionally intelligent and ethical person,' she said in the statement.
