The American citizen who crossed over into Lebanon on Tuesday was found by Lebanese army forces, the Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen television channel reported on Thursday. On Tuesday, it was reported that a lone man dressed in an IDF uniform was spotted in southern Lebanon with a box full of pages printed in Hebrew. Allegedly, he attempted to cross over into Lebanon via the village of Ayta ash Shab, the same village from which a Hezbollah unit attacked IDF forces and starting the Second Lebanon War in 2006. IDF forces canvassed the norther border on Tuesday using helicopters, and Lebanese army forces and Hezbollah units searched for the man on the Lebanese side of the border. It remains unclear what motivated him to cross into Lebanon.
