Two pipe bombs thrown at Rachel’s Tomb

Two pipe bomb were thrown at Rachel’s Tomb from the Palestinian side of the security barrier that separates the Jewish holy site from the rest of the city of Bethlehem.
A police sapper neutralized the devices bombs and no one was injured, according to a statement from Border Police.
The tomb where the biblical matriarch is buried draws thousands of worshipers who travel to the site on a road flanked by concrete walls.
Despite the walls, however, the Palestinian side near the building that houses the tomb has in the past been a flashpoint for violence.
In March, an 18-year-old Palestinian woman was arrested after threatening to stab soldiers at the checkpoint near the tomb.
In April 2017, an Israeli officer was lightly wounded by stones and Molotov cocktails thrown by Palestinians at the tomb.
Separately on Tuesday, in the Samaria region of the West Bank, IDF soldiers arrested and interrogated three Palestinian suspects. Soldiers frisked the suspects and found four pipe bombs concealed on their bodies.
