The app was developed in light of the need to cut down response time in reaching those who need life-saving services at the beach. With the new technology designed for use by emergency medical service workers, dispatchers are able to send locations via United Hatzalah’s LifeCompass app to responders.
“We want to remind everyone that last year the swimming season was full of emergency calls across all the beaches in the city and included dozens of incidents of near drowning,” said United Hatzalah Carmel Chapter head Naftali Rotenberg. “We found that the biggest problem was correctly locating the patients on the beach or in the water who needed help.”“By using the app, our volunteers have succeeded in arriving quickly to all of the emergency calls. This app will definitely save lives this summer,” he added.Namaste in the North: Yoga fest goes to Galilee Yogis of all shapes, sizes and levels of experience are set to flock to Gan Hashlosha National Park at the foot of scenic Mount Gilboa in the Beit She’an Valley for the country’s first and largest yoga festival from May 11 to 13.Among the park’s tranquil, cascading waterfalls and natural springs flowing into streams and pools, some of the leading yoga instructors from Israel and abroad are slated to take part in the International Yoga Festival.
