Hamas arrests suspects in weekend rocket attack against Israel, sources say

Israeli security sources said Sunday that Hamas has arrested five suspects in the firing of a rocket from the coastal territory into southern Israel over the weekend.The rocket fired into the Eshkol Regional Council was just the second such projectile fired at Israel since the end of Operation Protective Edge on August 26.According to the sources, Hamas denies that its operatives were behind the rocket fire.They added that Hamas remains committed to maintaining quiet on the border and finding those responsible for the rocket fire.Israel closed the crossings into Gaza on Sunday morning as a result of the fire.Hamas said that the Israeli move was a violation of the cease-fire agreement which ended Operation Protective Edge.
