The IDF has warned Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army not to interfere with its newly launched campaign to destroy attack tunnels, dug by the terrorist organization since the end of the Second Lebanon War in 2006 that reach into Israeli territory."The IDF is warning Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army and advises them to stay away from any tunnel that has been drilled from Lebanese territory into Israel," Avichay Adraee, the IDF spokesperson for Arabic media, wrote on his Twitter account in Arabic."You are in danger. You have been warned," Adraee added. This morning, the IDF announced the launch of Operation Northern Shield, as an effort to expose and neutralize cross-border attack tunnels that would endanger Israeli soldiers and civilians. On its Twitter, the IDF wrote that it will increase its presence on the northern border and prepare for any developments that will arise due to the campaign.Hezbollah officials have been largely quiet since the announcement this morning. Israeli politicians have praised the operation and voiced their support for the IDF. Even though many residents near the northern border voiced concerns over banging noises for the past few years - similar to Gaza border residents' complaints before the 2014 Protective Edge operation, which had exposed dozens of tunnels - the government always denied that such tunnels existed or were being built near the northern border.
