A day after Israel agreed  to an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire to end 50 days of fighting with armed factions in the Gaza Strip, Iran congratulated Palestinians for "making the Zionist regime come down to its knees before the steel will and valor of the resistance groups."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry congratulated the Palestinians for their "victory" over the "Zionist aggressors."
The statement referred to "the resistance in Palestine" and "Gaza's brave combatants," failing to mention Hamas or Islamic Jihad by name. The Iranian regime is believed to be a main funder of the Gaza terror groups.
Iran said that the victory "highlighted Iran`s support for the resistance of the Palestinian nation in the future," adding that Jerusalem would ultimately be "liberated" from the "occupation" of Israel.

"The success to impose the demands of the resistance groups on the Zionist culprits in the uneven war of Gaza is the outcome of the sacrifices made by thousands of martyrs who fought to uphold the flag of resistance in the world despite non-human Zionist actions," the ministry said.
