PA buries policeman-turned-terrorist with official honors

The Palestinian Authority on Monday held a military funeral for Amjad Sukkari, the Palestinian policeman who carried out the shooting attack near Bet El a day earlier. Three IDF soldiers were wounded in the attack.
PA security officers carried Sukkari’s body, which was draped in a Palestinian flag, from the Rafidiyeh Hospital in Nablus toward the city center, where hundreds of mourners were gathered.
The funeral procession then set out to Sukkari’s village of Jamain, south of Nablus, where he was buried.
Senior PA officials, including the governor of Nablus, Akram Rajoub and Fatah Central Committee member Mahmoud Al-Aloul attended the policeman’s funeral.
Sunday's attack followed a string of assaults inside Jewish settlements in the occupied territory, prompting Israeli army to step up security measures in the area.
A campaign of stabbings, shootings and car-rammings by Palestinians has killed 26 Israelis and a US citizen since the start of October.
