Following the completion of excavation works on a Roman-era stadium in Bolu, Turkey, the site was prepared for tourism with new cleaning and lighting initiatives. On December 25, the stadium was illuminated for the first time, allowing the ancient structure to be seen at night and providing visitors with an opportunity to appreciate its splendor after dark.

İbrahim Emre Gürsoy shared updates on the project with the press, noting the completion of excavation and lighting works at the ancient stadium.

"We have a project plan to make this place an attraction center. We are working on other historical areas in the province," said Gürsoy, according to NTV. He noted that Bolu has been facing challenges in terms of touristic destinations around the city center.

"We especially want to create an archaeological park here. We will look at what can be done to make this place more attractive," he said, according to Milli Gazete.

The ancient stadium, dating back to the Roman period, was revealed during excavation works carried out by the Bolu Museum Directorate in 2008 in the Büyükcami Neighborhood. The works were conducted under the coordination of Associate Professor Davut Yiğitpaşa from Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of Archaeology, with the participation of master's students.
