Some 250 artists, 30 exhibition venues and dozens of art installations open throughout Jerusalem during the week starting October 25 beginning at 7 p.m. The Manofim (“cranes”) art event, now in its fifth year, attracts thousands of visitors who come to the city to celebrate local art and creativity.
This year, the art events will take place in a different area every day.
Among the exhibitions opening there will be an interesting display of contemporary art at the Rockefeller Museum, at Hacubiya Place for Art. The exhibition “Safe Harbor” examines the meaning of being a refugee in Israel.
The Zik Group is holding an open studio called Salon d’Automne with new and veteran sculptors.
At Mishkenot Sha’ananim, Gil Haller’s paintings bring a whiff of nostalgia for another era. That theme continues at Beit Ticho with “Anna’s Vienna,” an exhibition of art from the beginning of the 20th century.
There will be free shuttles among the galleries from 9 a.m.
to midnight, mediating encounters between artists, artworks and viewers. Various Jerusalem artists and performers will surprise commuters on these shuttles.Entrance to all the exhibitions and events is free.
