Israeli actress and model Gal Gadot, who will play Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie planned for 2015, has something to say to those who think she is too "skinny" for the role. After fans of the comic book series reacted saying Gadot was not big-chested enough to play the iconic female role, she barked back saying that she represents something different than what Wonder Woman fans are used to. "I represent the Wonder Women of the new world," she said last week on Good Evening with Guy Pines.Gadot added that breast size as a representation for feminine power is simply absurd, joking that "anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine.""Wonder Woman is amazonian," she said on the popular evening talk show. "Historically accurate amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I’d really go 'by the book,' it’d be problematic."What does Gadot have to say to those who don't believe she can bulk up before filming begins?"I’m starting the physical preparations now. Very intense training regime: Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian. 1,000 and one things. I’ll gain body mass," she insists. The beauty queen also laughed about the moment she found out she would play the iconic part.
She was catching a connecting flight from Tel Aviv to Los Angeles in New York City when her agent Hadas Lichtenstein called her with the good news."She says to me 'Wonder Woman!' and I’m like 'What??' – 'The role is yours!'Gadot says that she spent the entire connecting flight leaning into the window and breathing with her head between her knees "just to try to understand" the capacity of the role she would have the honor of playing."I remember laying in the darkness by myself, staring at the ceiling, and I was telling myself: It’s not real.”Gadot is best known in the US for her role of Gisele Harrabo in three Fast and Furious films, starring alongside Paul Walker, who was killed in a car crash in California last month.“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” director Zack Snyder said in a statement following the announcement of the casting.
