Spencer Tunick reveals Dead Sea nude installation image

"Israelis are some of the most beautiful, warm, educated, open minded and peaceful people that I have ever worked with,” the photographer says.

Spencer Tunick, the Jewish-American artist who photographs mass nude installations around the world, revealed the first photo from his Dead Sea installation on Wednesday. The installation took place on September 17 with 1,200 Israelis.
“Israel is not a theocracy it is a democracy and the only place in the Middle East that I could create this art," said Tunick on Wednesday. “Thanks to the participants' efforts, the world has a new image of Israel as an open and vibrant democracy."

The photo was released ahead of the New7Wonders campaign's end on November 11, where the Dead Sea is competing to be one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
The initiators of the project, Ari Fruchter & Shlomit Yarkoni said that they were thrilled at the release of the image.
“Through the art of Spencer Tunick we were able to reach over 500 million people around the world with a new positive image of Israel and an important environmental message. We look forward to continuing to work with Spencer to prepare a full museum exhibition of his work.”
