I Am Tel Aviv

While sitting at my desk in my Minneapolis office this afternoon, my phone kept blowing up with alerts from my JPost and Haaretz apps.  I didn't really think much of it at first, until a friend sent me a Facebook message with the headline  "Initial Report: Shooting in Tel Aviv".
Gunmen, dressed like Orthodox Jews, opened fire on people enjoying an evening out at Sarona.
My heart sank.
Tel Aviv.  Beautiful, multicultural, cosmopolitan.  My favorite city in the entire world.  Rocked by it's 3rd headline grabbing terror attack this year.
Tel Aviv.  The city where visiting means staying at the Sea Executive Suites just down the street from the US Embassy.
Tel Aviv.  The city where visiting means I wake up, head to the Port, and drink an Iced Aroma while seagulls soar above me.
Tel Aviv.  The city where I spend Shabbat afternoons sitting on the breakwater by Bograshov Beach and soak up the sun while people watching.
Tel Aviv.  The city where I have never been treated bad by anyone... Jewish or Arab.
My heart aches today.  Terror sucks.  Stay strong Tel Aviv.  I miss you.  I can't wait to return.  #IAmTelAviv
