Telling What Matters To Me, Hopefully to Many Others, with The Power of the Pen
By NURIT GREENGER
People often ask me why I write. Jokingly I reply that since I have no one to talk with I write in order to say what is on my mind.Tom Stoppard, the Czech-born British playwright and screenwriter who received one Academy Award and four Tony Awards, who, in 2008 The Daily Telegraph ranked him number 11 in their list of the "100 most powerful people in British culture," once said that the reason he writes is “because every once in a while you put a few words together in the right order and you're able to give the world a nudge. And sometimes I'm able to do that.”I do not know if I am able to rise to Mr. Stoppard’s prominence, but in my writing I am certainly working diligently at giving the readers of my writing clarity of thinking and truth.
Yours truly Nurit Greenger-photo Nurit GreengerI began writing by making comments about current events and the more people asked me to write the more I had to say. My writing interests swung between USA subjects and Jewish and Israeli ones. And in between those two there were those huge ideas of truths, heritage, creating bridges to hearts, minds and souls.I spend my childhood growing up in Israel, where my personality’s base was formed. I have been spending my adult life living in the United States where I matured and have learned what liberty and freedom really mean and how to live them to the fullest. I found myself being a pen-bridge between the constitutional Republic United State of America and the Democratic Jewish State, Israel.USA and Israel two rare phenomena
It appears that the United States is the only country in the world that was founded by pioneers/settlers who were seeking better life in this newly found land, on a basic idea of freedom; a rare phenomenon in the political history of the world that not only happened but has worked well and had become deeply entrenched in the ethos and identity of the American people. Most of countries were founded based on race, or common history and having a country built on the charmed phenomenon of freedom never occurred and it appears never will repeat itself again. The United States is the strongest, most influential and prosperous country on the planet, based on a system that the ingenuity of the possibly the greatest politicians on earth came up with.Israel on the other hand was the invention of what the Jewish people relegate to a super natural power they saw and interacted with after they left the Egyptian bondage, what they named G-D.First Jews, the Israelites, conquered the land, they named the Land of Israel, promised to them by their G-D, where they developed the first and second Jewish Common Wealth. Then came 2000 of dark clouded exile duration when Jews were scattered all over the world with only the hope and dream in their heart to return to their still promised land they called Zion.Jewish identity and the attachment to the land of Israel acted as the Jewish survival impetus through the two thousand years of exile and homelessness; this impetus was entirely owed to the scatted throughout the world Jews’ faithfulness to their laws of the Ten Commandments, the basic laws of all civilized societies; to their national identity as the descendants of their Forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their evolvement into believing and trusting in the power of the unseen G-D and Monotheism. The strong and enduring attachment to Jewish law, heritage and national identity, is the main reason that the past century plus period brought millions of Jews to resettle in the land of Israel before and after the reestablishment of the third Jewish Commonwealth, aka the State of Israel, 70 years ago.The Jews who have come to Israel from the four corners of the globe did not enter a foreign land as some type of migrants; they were simply exiles who have returned to their homeland. The resurrected Israel, is a democratic state populated by ingathered Jewish exiles.Although Israel is now ranked as one of most powerful nations, the way I see it, Israel is the younger sister of the leading brother America, the America that is often in Israel’s coroner at time of need. Because the two nations have grown to be what they are from the very same root, the Bible. Both Israel and the USA are states based on ideals and ideas rooted in the Bible. And that left me with a door wide open to all my writing work, as a free-lance journalist. The Bible, the freedom of expression, the open eye to truth, the lack of anyone controlling my thoughts, mind and feeling.

History, past and in the making attests that those societies where they get politics wrong, everything else is destroyed, everything else is knocked down. From early years I was a conservative. I had the opportunity to be a voting citizen after I became a citizen of the United States. Caused by some natural force, I was always a conservative, constitutional thinker and logic was always the base of my voting rule, which I express in my political op-eds’. I find conservative thinking and truth going hand in hand.I make an effort to tackle issues in a simple writing style that the reader can comprehend. That means, understanding the basic prevailing opinion and then interjecting my opinion and together I try lead the reader to clarify what is in my head from the get go that will then be lodged in his or her line of thinking and brain. There is a joy in telling a story; there is a joy of getting the keyboard to help tell my story and express my opinion which then forms into an article or op-ed ready to be published. It gives me that inner satisfaction to be able to share what my eyes see, my ears heard and my mind processes and wishes to put into written format.

Being an ‘out-of-the-box thinker, Nurit is a passionately committed advocate for Jews, Israel, the United States, and the Free World in general. From Southern California, Nurit serves as a “one-woman Hasbarah army” for Israel who believes that if you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.”So long I am writing, I stand by being ‘out-of-the-box thinker’ and stay committed to advocate for Jews, Israel, the United States, and the Free World in general.
