Tnuva is expanding its culinary brand White Chef and introducing coconut liquid and coconut cream for the first time outside the dairy section. The products include coconut liquid and cream with varying fat percentages and join the wide range of cooking and baking products under the White Chef brand. Coconut liquid and cream are derived from the white flesh of the coconut, found beneath its brown shell. These products are closely associated with Asian cuisine and are ideal for a variety of dishes, soups, and desserts.
The White Chef coconut cream from Tnuva contains 22% fat and is available in a 250 ml container or a 400 ml can. The White Chef coconut liquid from Tnuva, with 18% fat, is offered in a 250 ml container. All three products are suitable for soups, vegetable/tofu/chicken/meat stews, stir-fries, smoothies, desserts, and more. They are pareve, certified kosher by Badatz Kehilot, and cater to fans of Asian cuisine, those avoiding lactose, and the kosher-keeping community.
The difference between coconut liquid and coconut cream lies in the amount of water mixed with the white coconut flesh. Coconut cream provides a thick and rich texture to dishes, while coconut liquid is slightly thinner but still delivers the unique and fragrant coconut flavor.
"Since the COVID-19 period and continuing today, we see a growing trend of home culinary activities in Israel, with more Israelis cooking and baking at home," says Yael Attias, Head of the Food and Culinary Business Unit in Tnuva's Marketing Department. "Asian cuisine is the second most popular foreign cuisine among Israelis after Italian, according to a Tnuva and KANTAR survey from May 2023. We believe that expanding the 'Chef White' line to include coconut products will encourage more consumers to explore and enjoy the entire series."
