Dyson came late to the game of vacuum cleaners that also know how to wash/mop the floor. While Chinese manufacturers included the technology, Dyson waited and waited until they launched the v15s detect submarine. This combined vacuum cleaner comes to offer the best of both worlds, both a powerful vacuum cleaner and a device that knows how to wipe the floor from dirt that sticks to it.
The v15s detect submarine is the old V15 Detect, only with the addition of the wash (for the full review on it). They have the same very strong suction power of 240AW (which is a very strong power, which has no difficulty removing dirt stuck in shaggy carpet), the same cyclone technology - 14 cyclones working at the same time (it is a technology for removing microscopic dust particles from the air stream without loss of suction power) and a working time of up to 60 minutes.
Another identical point between the two vacuum cleaners is the laser technology, this is located in the fluffy brush (soft roller). The laser identifies the dust particles that are invisible to the human eye, using a green laser beam. The idea sounds ridiculous at first, but it's addictive when used. First of all, I realized how dirty my floor is with dust, even though it looks clean and a day after vacuuming or washing it. The laser detects different types of dust particles, of all sizes. The detection of the laser is also visible in daylight, but when you turn off the light in the room, distinguishing dirt is easier. What's troubling about this technology is that you realize that your house is filling up with dust really quickly.
The vacuum cleaner's kit also includes a Digital Motorbar brush, a larger and stronger brush with technology to prevent hair entanglement. This brush knows how to penetrate deeply into carpets and clean deep-seated dirt. In my experience, it worked really well and was able to remove dirt that had been stuck for a long time in the shaggy carpet in my living room.
v15s detect submarine - wet wiping, not rinsing
The wet wiping solution comes in a "submarine brush" accessory. Although the logic is that it would be possible to purchase it for the regular v15 as well, it will not work on it and it is only intended for v15s. This is a head that connects to the bottom of the vacuum cleaner instead of the brush used. This is a relatively large head, it is rectangular, including a tank for clean water and a collection tank for dirty water.
The Submarine does a good job of wet mopping the floor, cleaning liquids and light dirt. If you took care to mix the clean water tank with a suitable floor liquid (one that does not foam), the floor will also smell good and shine. The power of the water that comes out of the Dyson is respectable, but there is no way to change it, if you want more or less liquid.
Although Dyson calls this solution a wash, it feels more like wet mopping and polishing the floor. Unlike other solutions, it does not suck the dirt while wiping. As a result, if you did not take care to vacuum the desired area well and dry dirt remains there, most likely after washing, hair and food residues will remain stuck to the floor.
Dyson realized that you will want to rest while cleaning the house or until you decide to clean the brush, so they include a tray called a "drip tray" in the kit, on which you can store the brush. The problem is, you will want to put your head on the tray, it will drip while you lift it in the air and dirty the area.
Like other washing solutions, the maintenance is also a nuisance here. At the end of washing, you need to take the brush itself, wash it and clean it of dirt. After that, you also have to leave it on the balcony to dry (so that it won't stink up the house). Also, you also have to go empty the dirty water collected inside the head itself. Since the dirty water area is open, great care is needed when emptying it into the toilet, otherwise you will find dirty water splashes on the floor.
During my review, I was too lazy to wet mop the floor with the Dyson because it just required too much work (filling with water, cleaning it, and drying) and I used it so infrequently that I wanted to pay a little more attention to cleaning the floor.
The price: NIS 4,700 (official importer B.N.Z.K Sahar)
Bottom line, as usual for Dyson, it is not a product that is priced at an affordable price. This model costs - NIS 4,700, much more than other alternatives or the old V15. On the other hand, here too, as usual for Dyson, it offers an excellent product, which vacuums at very strong intensities, including lighting that shows the dust hidden from view and does an excellent job in this area. The flushing solution is a little less good, and at least at this point, Dyson still has work to do to make it successful.
