Let’s start with a simple fact: life is generally easier for men in this regard. What does this mean? While women (especially in their late teens) face the monumental challenge of selecting a prom dress that will be memorable for years, men can follow just a few straightforward recommendations to handle their graduation attire.

From luxurious velvet suits and printed blazers to classic tuxedos in rich, vibrant colors, various styles cater to the needs of a young man on the brink of adulthood. The question is, how can you avoid maxing out your dad's credit card in an attempt to be the prom king? And if you do splurge, how can you choose pieces that will remain useful, even for future events?

“Generally, the prom crowd today opts for breathable fabrics due to Israel's summer months. The color range is broad but quite conservative, allowing for more casual expression,” shares Guy Mor, co-owner of Segal Fashion. "This coming season, we already see a wide range of requests regarding cuts, but it's clearly leaning more towards looser fits compared to the slim fits that were more prevalent in the past. The idea is to understand the customer's body structure and tailor the suit to fit their personality, considering shades and, of course, measurements."

To understand the features to consider when choosing a suit, we turned to Kobi Elmakayes, one of the three partners of the men's clothing brand "DARE," alongside Orit Bechar and Tal Stern. He managed to summarize the essentials in just four tips.

1. Uniqueness - Graduating high school is a once-in-a-lifetime event that offers a real chance to don a suit. Despite the number of students, you still want to feel special. Uniqueness doesn’t have to come from an unconventional color or a special suit design but from accessories. Small details like socks, a neck scarf, a flower lapel pin, and more can add character and upgrade your look.

2. Comfort - Prom is essentially one big party, so you don’t want to feel stifled in your suit. Therefore, we recommend slightly looser, more relaxed cuts rather than skinny and overly tight shirts. This also gives a cooler vibe and appears less forced.

3. Functionality - It’s important that you connect with the suit you buy and see yourself wearing the trousers separately for other events or pairing the blazer differently. Seek advice from the service provider on how to mix and match with additional items. It's crucial!

4. Budget - Of course, everyone has their budget. We recommend investing in a good quality product that offers value for money and lasts beyond one or two wears, so it serves you well in the future.
