There are plenty of reasons to drink throughout the day, but if you plan to pour a drink at noon or even at brunch before a workday, it’s great to have options that cause minimal guilt and pair well with lots of ice.
For several years, the BUZZ brand by Carmel Wineries has provided a good alternative for those who enjoy refreshing and light drinks at an accessible price. This summer, the brand has done it again. Joining their line of sparkling wines with 6% alcohol are two bottled cocktails, or more precisely, wines that are also cocktails.
The newly launched bottles are BUZZ Piña Colada and BUZZ Cosmopolitan, delivering the full taste of cocktails with zero preparation—just open, pour, and drink. You don’t even need a corkscrew.
This innovation is part of a growing trend of home cocktail bottles over the past two years. The flavors of BUZZ offer a light drinking option without worrying too much about the effects of alcohol, making them a refreshing aperitif, especially on days when you find yourself on the beach at 11:00 a.m.
Delicious and Affordable
As someone who has watched "Sex and the City" countless times, the first bottle I opened was the Cosmopolitan. It was an excuse to prepare a few cocktail glasses with a lemon wedge and sparkling BUZZ before Turkey-Portugal on Saturday. That’s how we do girls' nights around here.
I'm a bit of a drink snob, and not everything tastes good to me, but the flavors of cranberry, lemon, and orange with light effervescence hit the spot, and I especially liked that it wasn’t too sweet.
A Sweet Finish
In contrast, 'BUZZ Piña Colada,' which is based on Moscato wine, is slightly sweeter, with light bubbles and aromas of rum and coconut that closely resemble the original drink.
Here, it's best to use a low glass, ice, and you can add a pineapple slice for garnish. Chances are the pineapple will cost more than both bottles combined, as a single bottle of BUZZ is priced at NIS 35. There’s nothing more delicious and affordable than that.
