Missoni's iconic zigzag print, created in the 1950s, has captured the hearts of local fashion enthusiasts this summer. Despite the ongoing conflict and fewer glamorous events, this joyful print lifts the seasonal style spirit. With broad color palettes dominating the fashion scene, Missoni's zigzag stripes stand out and refuse to be relegated to the wardrobe's depths. Israelis seem to have fallen in love with this pattern, and it's easy to see why.

Founded in 1953 by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, the Italian fashion house, celebrating its 71st anniversary, has passed through generations. Their children, including Angela, who became the brand’s creative director, maintained the stylistic hallmark invented by their parents. By the late 1950s, a colorful, patterned dress woven with thin threads sold from the family workshop with a knitting machine traditionally used for scarves in Southern Italy. This evolved into Missoni's vibrant and symbolic knitwear, known for its varied hues and array of pieces. Long story short, Angela Missoni's baton has since passed multiple times, with Filippo Grazioli taking over as the artistic director in March 2022.

Yael Shelbia embraced the print this week with a complete set from the brand, featured on her Instagram feed with the caption "summer time." She wore a Missoni bodysuit with an elongated neckline, offering a glimpse of a narrow décolletage, and a back neck tie. Paired with loose shorts that could easily be mistaken for a playful skirt, this set is available for rent at 600 shekels from Noa Azulai’s TWELVE DOT FOUR studio (price varies by rental duration). Shelbia complemented her vibrant choice with a sparkling gold statement necklace from Swarovski's IDYLLIA collection, adorned with multiple shell and pearl charms.

The refreshing color interpretations and seasonal silhouette updates are indeed a feast for the eyes. The vibrant hues and the brand’s recurring motif are amplified in various ways through the elegant and flattering lines revealed in different women's collections. Another standout wearing Missoni this week was pregnant Coral Simanovich, expecting baby number 3. Alongside her baby bump, she showcased knitted pants with the print, paired with a one-shoulder black top and nude chunky Prada shoes, a major trend this season.

At first, it didn’t seem remarkable—two stars wearing similar outfits is common in the industry. But the third picture confirmed a mini-craze for the piece. Noa Beny also recently wore it in a one-shoulder maxi dress during a vacation in Monaco (about 2,700 shekels). Looking abroad, countless women are drawn to Missoni's broad color spectrum. Recently, Kylie Jenner sported a crochet-knit bucket hat (around $280), and German fashion influencer Leonie Hanne repeatedly uses the brand's signature print.
