Dr. Anat Zehavi, from the field of genetic research, founded Terragreen to provide a therapeutic and consulting platform for women at all life stages, including solutions for fertility and menopause.
"I have always believed in science and the good it offers us," says Dr. Anat Zehavi. "With this vision, we founded Terragreen to address genetic testing and medicine for both men and women." Terragreen Medical specializes in products for women's health and personalized medicine. The idea is to find medical solutions and equipment worldwide and bring them to the Israeli public. Dr. Zehavi, with her extensive background in women's health and genetic research, believes the most critical aspect is raising awareness among patients about these solutions.
Dr. Zehavi explains that the goal behind Terragreen is to establish a platform that addresses women's needs at every life stage. "Women have many questions and dilemmas, and they often need a professional opinion. This motivated me and the gynecologists we work with to establish the company."
Dr. Zehavi recalls that it was during a professional conference abroad, where she and her partners discovered the world of medical products for women. "I always thought that women in Israel did not receive adequate responses to many medical issues," she emphasizes, "especially regarding fertility and menopause. There was no real platform for asking the right questions and getting professional answers."
Dr. Zehavi and her partners collaborated with a German company that manufactures medical products for women to import them to Israel. "It's not as simple as it sounds," she explains. "It required many processes. We need to register the products with the Ministry of Health, and every year we must undergo a certification process, but we did everything necessary."
"The products we bring to Israel address all stages of a woman's life. There are products that provide the most ideal conditions for natural pregnancy without chemicals. There are natural, hormone-free contraceptive solutions, which offer relief for many women who suffer from hormonal side effects. They also offer assistance for menopause symptoms, such as vaginal dryness and other issues women experience at this age. I feel it provides a protective umbrella for women of all ages."
"There Is Another Option"
Dr. Zehavi grew up in the USA, where she began her undergraduate studies to enter medical school. During this journey, she fell in love with research, and after being accepted into medical school, she decided to become a researcher. At 24, she and her parents returned to Israel, and she began her master's degree in genetic research.
"I started my master's studies in Jerusalem and completed them at Tel Aviv University," she recalls. "There, I fell in love with the world of genetics. For several years, I conducted amniocentesis diagnostics in the laboratories of Meir Hospital, followed by oncogenic cancer diagnostics at Sheba Medical Center. I realized I wanted to learn more, so I pursued a PhD in microbiology and clinical immunology."
Dr. Zehavi had to choose between continuing her studies for a post-doctorate or entering the job market. After a brief trial period, she chose the business sector.
