Osem announced today to retail chains that starting in August, it will reduce the list price of several products, primarily in its breakfast cereal line, by 8%-15%. In a letter first published on News 12, the company explained that the price reduction aims to support consumers and alleviate their financial burden during the current period. The new prices will take effect on August 1st.
It's important to note that in May, Osem announced a second across-the-board price increase since the beginning of 2024. This increase included a wide range of basic products found in nearly every household in Israel, as Osem is one of the largest food manufacturers and marketers in the country.
Osem Nestlé stated in response, "Osem Nestlé informed retailers today that it is lowering the list price of several breakfast cereal products to make them more accessible to consumers throughout the year, not just during promotional periods."
