Or Nidbach, the winery's head winemaker, explains: "Our philosophy is to plant vineyards in the most suitable growing areas for the various varieties. This presents us with logistical challenges, but guarantees the highest quality."
This year the challenges in the vineyards of the north are particularly prominent, with the Malkia vineyard in the center of attention. Nidbach adds: "Due to the situation, access to some of our vineyards, mainly in the Upper Galilee, is limited. We rely more on our dedicated winegrowers in the field for information and samples."
The Malkia vineyard, located on the northern border, is one of the winery's most special and high-quality vineyards. From it, Tabor Winery produces its flagship wine, which is named after the vineyard - "Malkia Wine". During this period, the vineyard receives special attention due to its sensitive location and the unique challenges it poses.
Yaniv Inbar, the manager of the winery, describes the complexity: "Our winegrowers in the north, and especially in the Malkia region, are experiencing a particularly challenging year. Some of them were evacuated from their homes, and working in the vineyards involves risks and depends on security clearances. Despite this, they continue their work with inspiring dedication."
Despite the difficulties, the winery team and the winegrowers continue their work without compromise. Inbar emphasizes: "With the exception of one vineyard that was not accessible this year, we were able to get the grapes from our best vineyards, including Malkia, for a quality harvest. This is a testament to the determination and professionalism of our team."
As the winery prepares for the holiday season, Inbar explains the importance of continuity of work: "Wine is an inseparable part of our culture and holiday table. These days, it is especially important to choose a quality Israeli wine, such as Malkia wine, which represents the best in our country."
