The technology behind the device is equally impressive. Along the arms of the device there are two 1.5 mm openings, through which the air flow is accelerated. This creates two powerful air blades projected at an angle of 45 degrees, which converge to create one focused air jet. This directional air flow allows the smoothing of the hair while drying in a controlled manner, and helps achieve a smooth and shiny finish.
At the heart of the device is the Dyson Hyperdymium motor - a small, light and powerful enough motor to produce the air flow needed to dry and smooth the hair at the same time. A 13-blade propeller spins up to 106,000 rpm, pushing over 11.9 liters of air through the device per second.
Like all Dyson hair care products, the Airstrait hair straightener also features intelligent heat control. Glass sensors measure the air flow temperature 16 times per second to prevent heat damage and protect the hair's natural shine.

The device offers two design modes: Wet and dry, and a cooling mode to fix the result. In wet mode, there are three heat levels: 80°C, 110°C and 140°C. In dry mode, there are two heat levels: 120°C or 140°C.
In addition, there are two speed modes to control the air flow, as well as the possibility of a face using cold air and drying roots.

I used the device on very wet hair, and the results were simply amazing. In just 10 minutes - yes, you read that right, 10 minutes! - I was able to achieve a result that is usually seen only after a long treatment at the luxury hair salons. The device is easy and convenient to operate, and gives the hair a smooth appearance with surprising ease. But what impressed me the most was the stunning shine the hair received - as if I had just come out of an intensive salon treatment.
And not only on wet hair - I tried the device on dry hair as well, and the results were excellent as well.
