Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein on Tuesday filed an opposition with the Supreme Court against Beit Shemesh incumbent Mayor Moshe Abutbol's appeal, asking the court to reject the appeal and uphold the Jerusalem District Court's order to nullify the October 2013 election results and hold new elections.
The Jerusalem District Court ordered new elections on the basis of massive systematic and unprecedented fraud for an election in Israel and the Supreme Court is due to hear Abutbol's appeal on Thursday to restore the election results.
