Some 1,000 Israelis were hospitalized with the flu this week, head of Public Health Services in the Health Ministry Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis said in a Friday night interview given to N12.
According to Alroy-Preis, the rising number of flu patients is the reason for overcrowding in hospitals across Israel, rather than the newest wave of COVID-19 in Israel, caused by the Omicron variant.
In her interview, the head of Public Health Services also added that 12% of all Israelis who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the current wave have previously recovered from COVID-19.
