A 30-year-old man was shot and killed in Lod on Friday afternoon during a violent incident, the background of which is still unclear.
Magen David Adom paramedics received a call notifying them of the incident at 2:30 p.m.. They arrived on the scene to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds and in critical condition.
He was transferred to Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) for urgent treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Israel Police have opened an investigation into the incident and are conducting a search for the perpetrator and working with forensic investigators at the scene of the shooting.
