A 60-year-old Israeli who was imprisoned in Japan for drug smuggling passed away on Tuesday in his cell at the Yokohoma Detention Center, Hebrew media has reported on Wednesday afternoon.
His lawyer has claimed that the authorities failed to provide him with the necessary medical treatment for his heart problems, although the prison itself has yet to confirm the cause of death.
