Israeli airlines will resume direct flights to Turkey as a mark of a continued improvement in bilateral relations, Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said in a statement from Turkey where he was visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday.
The first direct flight will leave Israel on Thursday.
Cohen was in Turkey for a solidarity visit with Erdogan following the deadly earthquakes that hit the country last week to which Israel sent teams from the IDF and United Hatzalah to assist with the rescue mission.
