Japan will chair the Group of Seven (G7) financial leaders meeting on Thursday to discuss sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine as almost a year has passed since Russia's invasion, Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said on Tuesday.
The sanctions against Russia have achieved certain effects and the G7 will continue to closely coordinate with each other on possible further measures against Moscow to achieve the ultimate goal of Russia's withdrawal from Ukraine, Suzuki told reporters after a cabinet meeting.
