Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is set to visit Saudi Arabia on Monday as a Hamas delegation also visits the Kingdom, according to Palestinian reports.
Abbas is making the visit in response to an official invitation from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, according to the al Quds newspaper.
On Sunday, a Hamas delegation led by the movement's head, Ismail Haniyeh, arrived in Saudi Arabia perform Umrah, a nonobligatory Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, although the delegation has “not ruled out” holding meetings with Saudi officials as well, according to Hamas-affiliated Al Resalah news site.
