A man believed to be in his 30s was shot during a violent exchange, which is not thought to be terror-related, near the Iksal interchange in the north of Israel.
MDA paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, Israeli media reports.
The man was later identified as 26-year-old Muhammad Abu Jabal, a resident of Nazareth.
